Temple Akiba Nursery School is a place where children, their parents, and teachers come together to create a friendly, supportive and stimulating environment.  It is a community where Jewish and non-Jewish children play and learn.  Together they share a common experience reaching their developmental milestones.

The classrooms and outdoor environment are integrated with play areas that encourage children’s curiosity to investigate, create and express themselves. Children are free to make their own choices and explore the environment around them at their own pace.

  Our curriculum is based on the practice of emergent curriculum and the project approach.  Here, children are listened to and respected by teachers who help facilitate the children’s own discoveries through the use of hands-on activities such as art, movement, music, cooking, dance, science, and story telling.

 A staff of three classroom teachers, their assistants, a director and music, gym, and art studio specialists together share years of experience and a commitment to create a strong social-emotional environment for the children in which to play .

We celebrate all Jewish and National holidays.  Many of our family members are of the Jewish faith.  However, we accept and welcome children of other religions, races and nationalities.  The Parent Association is comprised of all our attending families.  Collectively, they work with teachers and the school director to build and establish a strong and enriched environment for our children.

Our Nursery School is for children ages 2 through 5.  Children must be 2 years of age prior to or by September 30, 2006.  We accept children who are not yet potty trained.

The school year is from September through late June.  (We offer a six week summer session from late June through late August.) 

Operating hours are from 8:00am to 5:30pm, Monday through Friday.  Regular classroom hours are from 9:00am to 12:30pm, Monday through Friday.  We offer an extended program Monday through Friday from 12:30pm to 5:30pm.  Early morning drop-off is available from 8:00am to 9:00am daily.

Parent tours are available upon request.  We provide individualized tours and work closely with new families to schedule a visit according to their calendar.

 Our school is affiliated with the Temple .  We are a non-profit organization.  The school’s capacity is for 40 children and their families.

Early drop-off fee from 8:00am-9:00am is included in the general tuition

All new enrolled families are required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of $150.00. This fee is applied
            towards processing and classroom supplies.

All returning families are required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of $50.00 by May of the present  school year.
