SLICHOT
Repentance, Change, Growth.
Begin the New Year with a special service of introspection. Our Slichot Service will be held on Saturday, September 4, beginning at 8:30pm, here at Temple Akiba. As a meditative service designed like our Kabbalat Shabbat Worship, "in the round," we invite you to come study with us and share in a meaningful service of prayer and forgiveness.
TASHLICH TASHLICH is the ceremony of spiritually ridding ourselves of the tzurrus we have accumulated over the past year. It is a time to cleanse our minds and souls, to turn a new page as we enter the New Year, and to reflect on how we can become better human beings.
Temple Akiba will be gathering along the Culver City Bike Path, where Culver Blvd. and Pacific Ave. meet. The ceremony will begin at 1:45 pm, Sunday, September 12 (First day of Religious School).
For those who wish to participate in our traditional Tashlich Bike Ride, please meet at Temple Akiba with your bike, helmet, and water at 1pm.
SUKKOT
Celebrate a week long of festivities with us for Sukkot. Sukkot begins on the evening of Wednesday, September 22. Join us "under the stars" for a bring-your-own-picnic-dinner in the Sukkah on Friday, September 24 at 6pm followed by our famous Kabbalat Shabbat Service, in the Social Hall, at 7pm. We end the evening back out in the Sukkah with a special Sukkot Oneg.
We invite you back the following morning, Saturday, September 25 at 9am for a Sukkot Morning Service & Study. We will meet again out inside the Sukkah.
