OUR PHILOSOPHY AND MISSION STATEMENT:
Temple Akiba Early Childhood Center, is a place where teachers, parents, children, Rabbi Shapiro and Cantor Frailich, join together to build a strong Jewish inspired community for children to be in. We have created an environment where all children, from all cultures and religious backgrounds, are welcome to be themselves, excite their curiosity, explore the many languages of the world around them and have the freedom to choose the areas of their interest from a variety of thought provoking activities.

TA ECC's educational approach is a weave of most recent child development theories, focusing especially on a play-based curriculum. Our main emphasis is to allow children to explore and develop their emotional, physical, cognitive and social qualities through developmentally appropriate play and exploration.

Starting from the age of two and transitioning through the age of five, we focus on developing healthy habits, promote appropriate social skills, close friendship, communication and language skills, self expression, positive self esteem, physical growth (fine and gross motor skills) and respect of one another.

Highlights of our program:

  • Small class sizes and student-teacher ratio
  • Outdoor classroom
  • Combination of Jewish curriculum and emergent curriculum
  • Morning enrichments include music, yoga, and science
  • Weekly Shabbat celebration
  • Flexible hours (half day, full day, 3 days a week, and 5 days a week)
  • Daily snacks and hot lunch twice a week
  • Weekly email communication from teachers and monthly newsletters
  • All Jewish families are gifted Temple membership during their enrollment at TA ECC
